Menorca's Beaches
Along Menorca's coast, there are numerous beaches that differ significantly between the south and north coasts. In the south, the beaches are small, lush, and less crowded, while in the north, they tend to be more expansive. Some of the more well-known beaches include Cala en Bosch and Cala Galdana on the island's southern side. These beaches offer all the services a family might need with restaurants and hotels almost directly on the beach. For the more adventurous, there are many beautiful and nearly untouched beaches along the coast if you're willing to take a short walk and have a rental car. A great tip is Cala Mitjana – don't be deterred by the bumpy road!

The food in Menorca features Spanish Mediterranean cuisine, and you can still eat quite affordably if you opt for the daily special. A delightful trip to make is to visit one of the island's cheese factories, where you can taste the delicacies and take some home. Another pride of the island is the Menorcan black horses, known as Caballo Menorquin. Early summer sees several festivals in their honor. In summary, as long as you are not looking for a bustling nightlife, Menorca has something for you; sun & swimming, romantic dinners, family-friendly hotels and vacation apartments, or an active vacation with cycling and hiking.

A relaxing and welcoming atmosphere prevails in the town, attracting many to return year after year. Consider renting a car for a few days for excursions, perhaps to Ciutadella, which boasts a wonderfully charming old town center and an even more charming harbor. If you're interested in renting a house, that's also an option.
